Tips Of The Week!

Alison’s Tip

I don’t know about you, but I am definitely getting excited for Thanksgiving.  This year we are going to have a record amount of people in attendance.  My top favorite tips for hosting large parties and keeping the stress down to a minimal is:

  • Prepare everything that is able to be made in advance, the night before (or days before).  Even if you are up until midnight, it will make the actual day of the party so much smoother.
  • Have a typed (or written) menu with all the recipes and times they need to be prepared and placed in the oven (like a road map) for the big day.

For more great tips on how to host large, stress free parties, make sure to review MY BLOG before the big day.  Happy Cooking:)

Katie’s Tip

Hey loves, this week on my blog we discussed the flu shot. Today I am going to give you tips on how to treat the flu. The only medication we have to help treat influenza is tamiflu, but there are some things you need to know before your child takes this medication.

1. Tamiflu only helps to shorten the time your child has the flu. It can help lessen the severity of the symptoms but it will not cure your child of the flu. In addition, the medication must be taken within the first 24 to 48 hours of the onset of symptoms for it to help.

2. One of the most common side effects of tamiflu is nausea and vomiting, so if you are going to have your child take this medication, have your doctor prescribe an anti-nausea medication.

See you Wednesday!!

It’s almost time for winter and that means for most of you…you’re just trying to keep warm! There’s no reason you can’t be stylish as well. Don’t go packing away all your entire spring wardrobe just yet. When I lived in NY, tights had always been really useful to me during the cold months. Throw on a fun pair of opaque tights with a great dress, skirt or pair of shorts and you can turn a spring look in something more appropriate for the winter seasons. Spanx makes really great tights that not only look great but hold you in as well. Why not right?! Have some fun and get a few pairs that are textured, patterned or even colored.
