Tips For The Week!

Alison’s Tip

We live in Fort Lauderdale, a hub for tourists and snowbirds.  During this time of year in particular, I am signing many health and travel certificates for pets.  It is so important to contact the airline, the USDA, and if necessary, the governing agency of the country you are flying to, to make sure you know what treatment or documents your pet will need to travel.  Some countries require months of preparation.  Each country has different guidelines, and each airline requires different things.  Your veterinarian is here to help, but it is your responsibility to know what you will need to get your pets to their new destination.  Happy traveling!

Katie’s Tip

It is the end of the school year and everyone is celebrating with a BBQ! Barbecues are a great way to get together with friends and relax. Unfortunately, the staple foods served at a BBQ can house bacteria leading to food poisoning. An important tip to preventing illness is to remember that food that is served cold should stay cold. Stay away from foods such potato salad and egg salad that have been sitting in the sun for an extended period of time.  See you Wednesday!

Carrie’s Tip

Summer BBQs are coming up and I have the perfect way to spruce up your drink bar. Alison take note because I hope you have these ready for me the next time I come over. Flavored ice cube!  So cute and fun to serve to your guests. All you do is add whatever flavor or food you want inside your ice cube tray, fill with water, and freeze! Personally, I would put a few different berries in mine and serve it with cold sparkling soda. Here are some other great ideas for different flavors- Mathastewart.com. Love it!
