I hope everyone had an awesome Hanukkah and Christmas! Now it’s time to gear up for New Year’s Eve. In our family, we usually have a NYE party at our house every year. We cook dinner and have a mock NYE countdown for the kids. Then we put the little ones to bed and continue the drinking and festivities into the new year. One of our favorite things to do at our NYE party is play Left Center Right. If you have never played, you must check it out – and enjoy! It’s always amazing to spend time with family and friends, and celebrating all the fantastic things to come with delicious New Year’s food is a great way to do just that!
New Year’s Food – What We Served at our New Year’s Eve Tapas Party
A few years ago, we did a potluck tapas New Year’s Eve party. It was so much fun! Everyone brought two or three of their favorite appetizers, and we all celebrated the new year. With all of us having so many children and the chaos and stress of the holidays, it’s fun to do something casual and fun with family and friends. A potluck tapas party is a great way to have lots of food yet make it a bit more relaxed and casual for everyone. So check out a few of our favorites from our menu that night.
This appetizer is delicious and so easy to make. The soup can be made the night before and heated up the day of your party. The presentation is so fun for a New Year’s Eve party. In fact, spooning any soup into little shot glasses will make it look fancy for any party, but especially for a New Year’s celebration!
The dipping sauce for these meatballs is amazing and very festive. The only high maintenance part of this recipe is the frying, but it is totally worth it. This version of Swedish meatballs is a bit of a different take on your traditional meatball. But it’s delicious and worth the extra work.
You must have bruschetta at a tapas party. The flavors of this recipe are so simple and delicious. The shrimp give it a bit of a fancy flare. This appetizer is definitely a crowd pleaser!
We were all so excited about this drink. It’s NYE! You have to make a fun drink!
Final Thoughts on Your New Year
We wish everyone a safe and wonderful New Year’s Eve celebration and a prosperous new year. Every year has its trials and tribulations but unbelievable joys and pride as well. We wish for health and happiness and for you to celebrate what is truly important in life – family and friends!
Happy New Year – Cheers, everyone!
