Nostalgia Overload…Walt Disney World Swan And Dolphin Hotel

That feeling of nostalgia is overwhelming when you walk in to the newly renovated Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Florida.  I have these incredibly vivid memories of staying at this resort with my sisters when we were younger. Pulling up to the hotel, the kids had the same reactions we had as children. It was fun to see the excitement on their faces after running through the rotating doors, in total awe of the grandeur of the lobby.  Everything inside felt the same as it did when I was a child, but the hotel was completely modernized in the best way possible after a total renovation!  Not to mention, there is an amazingly decorated new bar called Phins that they so kindly put in the main lobby area. My sisters and I had to make a quick pit stop at Phins before taking on Disney! Check out this bar below…

We arrived and immediately had to explore the resort and what it had to offer.  After hours of driving with the kids from South Florida, we stopped in the brand new restaurant appropriately named Fuel to get our energy back to take on the Disney parks.  After 15 minute of prying my 2 year old away from the fully stocked candy bar, we loaded up with high octane sandwiches and snacks. Did I mention they have an entire frozen yogurt bar too? We grabbed a couple lattes and we were off to check out the rest of the hotel.

I’m pretty sure the kids flipped their lids when we came upon this playground on the beach. They were having so much fun they almost forgot we were at Disney World.  It was pretty great for us too.  We finally took a minute to breathe and hang on the beach lounge chairs while the kids played.

We only were there for a short 48 hours but in our brief time spent there we saw tons of activities for kids! Here are some fun things you can do as a family:

  • Swan boat rental
  • Mini Golf
  • Playground on the beach
  • Basketball courts
  • Amazing pools
  • Camp dolphin
  • Game Room
  • Ferry rides to Epcot
  • Walking distance to The Boardwalk

After returning from our day at Magic Kingdom, we headed back to our hotel to check out the room. The kids literally teared through the doors and immediately started jumping on the beds. Every inch of the room was completely renovated, and brand new.  And the room was perfect for our favorite part of each trip- sitting on our balcony with a glass of wine after all the kids go to bed.  When we saw the kids all fell asleep quickly, we ran down to Fuel, grabbed a bottle of wine, and kicked back while enjoying our incredible views of the water.  After a day at the parks, every parent wants to come back to an oasis, and get some well deserved relaxation. We had just that!

Staying here had all the same wonderful feels that we experienced when we were children. I have visited many hotels in Walt Disney World area since my childhood, and experiencing this resort in such a fun and new way was certainly one of my most magical moments. My sisters make fun of me that I am the nerdy Disney guru of the family.  I happily admit that I am a proud Disney annual pass holder, and will forever have the Mickey magnet on my car.  I have pretty high Disney standards, and the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel was perfect!  Thank you Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel for having us! We can’t wait to visit again!

Have a magical day!

Xoxo,

Carrie
