How to Wear a Bodysuit

Hi Everyone.

Yes Kim Kardashian wears bodysuits. Yes they were popular back when you were in elementary school. But who cares because bodysuits have sort of changed my life. Ok not really. They just make me really happy and my shirts don’t look messy and unkept anymore. To me, this isn’t just a trend. It’s a basic staple. It’s an effortless way to look amazing and have your shirt tucked in forever…woo hoo! Because you’ve all been there when you are trying hard to make your outfit look sleek and it just won’t work. A bodysuit can look both sexy and chic. I am going to show you how to wear it in a way that will make sense for every age.

First, you need to decide what style work best for you. Personally, the low front plunging styles are not flattering for my body type because I have a bigger chest, but I love the long sleeve turtle neck and the spaghetti strap styles. I also think the ribbed fabrics add a little fun texture to your look. Below I have listed out each bodysuit style and what pieces I would pair them with. Even if you don’t love the bodysuit worn as a top, you can wear it as a cami underneath any of your see through or shear tops.

Spaghetti Strap: My favorite look for this style is high-wasited denim jeans, a great pump or sandal, and a soft thin cardigan. You can also swap out the cardigan with a statement blazer. That option will be a bit fancier and could be worn on a nicer occasion. Of course you can simply wear this underneath any shirt or blouse you may need a cami with.

Long Sleeve Turtleneck: This is a great layering piece. This is a basic staple in your closet. Layer it underneath your sweaters for added warmth. Wear it alone with some relaxed ripped boyfriend jeans. Or wear it with shorts. This is a very versatile look that can be paired with many different options. I also love this nude color. Personally this color would not be a good color for my skin tone. Neutrals and skin tone hues are going to be huge for spring. This is also a great work option paired with a high waisted pencil skirt!

{Boyfriend jeans, flats, hat}

Low Plunging Front: For our more daring women. I think my sister Katie would look amazing in this one! This would be great for a night out with your girlfriends. Because it’s a bit more revealing, I would go with a wide leg jean. Now that spring is around the corner, try it with a white denim. Leave the front sexy and bare with a bold colorful earring.

{High wasted denim, drop earrings, peep toe pumps}

Low Back Long Sleeve: Business in the front, party in the back! This is a really fun style. This would look great with some denim cut offs. Or if you are not a huge fan of the denim cut offs you could wear it with a bold printed short. This is also a style that would need to be worn bra-less.

Remember there is no age limit to this style. It all depends on how you wear it.

I hope you enjoyed the blog and all run out to buy a bodysuit 🙂 Happy shopping.
