Sweater Weather
It’s November everyone! And that means two important things…Alison has officially broken out all her holiday decorations and us Floridians can finally wear some of our sweaters that have been hiding under our beds for a year. I say that lightly because it’s still about 85 degrees outside. However, we do get cold fronts around here once in awhile. When I lived in Ohio and New York, I absolutely loved putting together cozy sweater outfits. So for today’s blog, I wanted to share some of my favorite must have sweater pieces and show you exactly how to style each of them head to toe! I really want to start focusing my blogs on how to style outfits as a complete ensemble. I find that this is a challenging task for most women and, since I am stylist, I would love to help! So for today I am focusing on 3 sweater pieces: a cozy oversized sweater, a sweater dress, and a fitted ribbed sweater.
Cozy Oversized Sweater: First step…find something that is cozy, slouchy and over sized. I absolutey LOVE this striped sweater from Zara. This is the perfect cold weather piece. Whenever you wear something slouchy on top, you want to make sure your bottom half is more fitted to balance it out. A tight pair of skinny jeans or a black legging would be the perfect match. For my outfit, I chose a pair of black leggings with a side stripe detail. I paired it with a grey short bootie with some fun hardware. Also, I loved this cross body maroon bag to finish off the look.

Sweater Dress: Obsession! Sweater dresses come in all different shapes and sizes. You can go with a loose fitting style or something more fit to your body. I personally love the one I picked for this collage. It has a cozy cowl neck and a high low effect. I would pair these with a knee high boot or a short bootie. Your pick! If it’s cold out, I would definitely put on a pair of opaque tights as well. Accessorize with a great stylish handbag and you’re all set.

Fitted Ribbed Sweater: This is the perfect top to pair with some trendy high waisted flared jeans. This look is very 70’s and on trend for this fall/winter. This maroon color is one of my all time favorites to wear. It is very flattering on many different skin tones. Throw on a cute floppy hat like this grey one from H&M. I paired this look with a high heeled peep toe bootie. The peep toe bootie should be a staple item in your closet for the fall/winter. You can even transition it into the spring time as well. I accessorized with a long necklace and one of my favorite Stella McCartney fringe bags.
