Pregnancy Style Tips
I’m not gonna lie…the first 3 months of my pregnancy were really hard on me. Usually it’s pretty easy for me to pull together stylish outfits, but once I became prego I was truly struggling with how to get through the infamous “chubby” stage. I thought for sure I would be able to stay in my normal clothes for at least the first 3-4 months. Wake up call…not even close! The moment I started to feel a little better about my rapidly changing body was when I bit the bullet and bought some great maternity clothes. As time went on, I realized I didn’t have to spend the next 6 months hating every outfit I put on. All it takes is a little time and patience and you definitely can create a stylish maternity wardrobe. I made this collage to show some of my favorite purchases so far, as well as some inspirational pregnancy outfits that I think are perfect for the mom’s to be! Below are some tips on how to get started.
My Pregnancy Style Tips
The first thing I did was go through my closet and pull out all the blouses I had already owned that I knew I could grow with. I made a special section in my closet for just those tops. You will feel a lot more organized if you have your own little maternity section at home. It’s very easy to get frustrated but don’t let it overwhelm you. To start with, I splurged and bought a few pairs of designer jeans. Even with the hefty price tag, it was worth every penny to me! The fit and quality was in another league from the other maternity jeans I had tried on. The dark denim AG jeans I posted in my collage are an absolute must for all Mommies to be. I know they can be pretty expensive but remember, you are most likely going to be wearing these for some time after you deliver as well. Once my belly finally started to pop, I embraced the tighter clothing! I bought a few basic dresses which I have been pairing with some of my bolder jackets I already had in my closet. And the swing dresses have been a savior. They are easy, comfortable and great to throw on in a hurry. Living in Florida, the weather is starting to creep in to that miserable hot and humid summer time that we all love lol. I knew I needed to find some great shorts to get me through those rough days ahead. Lately I have been wearing these brightly colored pull on shorts from J-crew that sit perfectly just below your belly. Elastic bands can be your best friend lol so get use to them. My favorite sites to look for maternity clothes are Asos, H&M, Nordstrom and Topshop! I have lots more tips and inspiration to share with you all so please keep checking back for more of my maternity blogs. I will keep them coming I promise!
