Lace It Up

Spring is almost here everyone! That means it’s almost time to pack up those bulky sweaters and heavy coats. If you want to start prepping your closet for spring, here is some insight into one of my favorite trends for the upcoming season.

Lace up shoes. Lace up blouses. Beautiful lace tops. Everywhere you look this spring, you are bound to see the lace trend. There is something so feminine and sexy about this look. On the spring 16 runways we also saw tons of ruffles and frills. A huge push for more romantic and delicate pieces! My sister Alison will be very excited to read this blog today. She has more ruffles and lace in her wardrobe than anyone I know!

I think this is a style that anyone can wear. You don’t have to be overly feminine. I love mixing lace with items that have a bit more edginess to them. Pieces that will add a funky contrast to your outfit. Such as- LACE + PLAID or LACE + LEATHER or LACE + RIPPED JEANS.

And everywhere you look, you will see lace up sandals, flats and pumps.  If you want to try this trend, invest in a cool pair of printed or bright colored lace up ballet flats. This is the perfect way to spruce up a basic outfit. I am obsessed with all of the cute shoes in this collage. When I was pregnant I loved buying fun colorful new shoes. It always made me feel better since the rest of my body seemed to be growing so quickly.

Here is an example of how I would put together an outfit: Lace Top + Boyfriend Jeans + Floral Ballet Flats + Statement Earrings + Nude Bag.

This is a perfect and versatile outfit for dinner with friends, a fun outing for the day or even a date night.
