“Tricks” Of The Week…Halloween Safety Tips For Your Pet and Kids, And Great Halloween Fashion
Alison’s Tip
Happy Halloween everyone. I am wishing everyone a safe and wonderful holiday. Here are my top tips for keeping your pets safe.
- Avoid costumes if your pets are not use to being dressed up. This can cause a lot of stress to your pet.
- Make sure to keep all the candy FAR OUT OF REACH of your pet- Especially the chocolate.
- During prime trick or treat time- keep your pet in a safe place away from the front door- missing pets are a big emergency this time of year.
Katie’s Tip
Happy Halloween!! Please remember, twice as many child pedestrians will be hit by a car on halloween than any other day of the year. If you have smaller children, try to start your trick-or-treating while it is still light out. Go over street safety with your child before heading out. Children under the age of 12 years old should always hold an adult’s hand while crossing streets. Make sure to always use the sidewalks. If there is not a sidewalk, walk facing traffic and as far off of the road as possible. I suggest designating an adult to walk the children in your group.
