Tips For The Week!

Alison’s Tip

With summer brings allergies.  Did you know that while humans present with runny nose, hay fever, and itchy eyes, dogs and cats get skin disease, ear infections, and severe generalized ithing as a result of allergies?  Every other appointment I am seeing at my animal hospital is ear infections, skin infections, and itching dogs.  There are many options we can do to relieve your pets from itching.

  • Antihistamines
  • Antibiotics
  • Topical products
  • Steroids
  • Apoquel
  • Immune Modulators
  • Hypoallergenic vaccinations

Speak with your veterinarian and get some relief for your itching pet.

Katie’s Tip

A day on the beach should be treated as if your child is participating in a sporting event. It is recommended that a child drinks 5 to 9 ounces of water (10 to 18 “gulps”) every 20 minutes during activity depending on weight (teenagers should drink more). Younger children should be given water bottles with marks on the sides showing how much they should drink or be told how many “gulps” to drink. Bring a cooler filled with hydrating fruits like watermelon and cantaloupe. I love this cooler tote with a collapsible mini table. It helps keep the sand out of your food!

Carrie’s Tip

I love mom hack’s! I think you know what I mean. All those little tricks that make life just a bit easier at home 🙂

Here are some of my favorite articles that give you tons of of great ideas to try. I love the idea of using a simple shoe holder to store your cleaning supplies! It keeps everything organized and also out of reach from your babies grasp.
