There are many pet emergencies during the holidays and I definitely see more pets for illness during this time of year. A common question I get is what constitues an emergency and when should I take my pet to the veterinarian office. The clinical signs to NEVER ignore and immediately have your pet evaluated by a veterinarian are; respiratory distress, extreme vomiting, severe lethargy/and or collapse, more than 1 seizure, severe abdominal pain, toxicities, paralysis, accidents/trauma, squinting or severe redness of the eyes. These are guidelines, but as always never hesitate to have your pet evaluated if you are concerned. For more information, please refer back to my blog post on PET EMERGENCIES.
If you are anything like my family, you have already started to get out the Christmas decorations and ready to get your Christmas tree. When decorating your tree make sure to put the larger ornaments towards the center of the tree and the smaller ones at the end of the branches! I love this guide to the perfect amount of ornaments for each size of christmas tree but when in doubt more is always more when it comes to decorating for the holidays!! See you Wednesday.
