Step into Spring!

It’s March everyone! Springtime is here. It’s almost time to pack away the heavy boots, coats and sweaters. Spring is by far my favorite season. I love the clothes. I love the cool air. And when I lived in NY, I loved to see everyone suddenly appear on the streets after months of hibernation!
Another reason I love spring is the footwear. I never enjoy wearing heavy layers and clunky boots. I much prefer a strappy sandal, light weight espadrille or a comfy sneaker. Today I am going to go through my top 10 essential footwear styles and trends for spring 2016. I know 10 pairs of shoes are too much for one season, so I will put an asterix next to the top 5 I think you can’t live without.
*White Wedge: I rarely see a pair of white shoes that I like. I try and stay away from white because it is inevitable that my child will spit up on anything white that I buy. But these are chic and sex and a must have. A wedge is a staple for the spring season and these will look great with so many different things in your closet.
Open Toe Bootie: This is the perfect transition from winter to spring! An open and airy bootie. I love the heel and the neutral color. I would wear these with skinny jeans or an easy t-shirt dress.
*Strappy Gold Sandal: Since I live in Florida, I have these in my closet all year long. They get worn at least once a week. Gold is a neutral color and will go with anything. You really have to own at least one pair of strappy sandals this season. Gold, silver, beige…any neutral color will do!
Chunky Heel: The chunky heel is back. Not everyone loves this look but I do and I am obsessed with the stripes here! If you are going with a more basic outfit such as a cozy t-shirt and a pair of boyfriend jeans, then these will instantly add a fun pop to your look.
*Lace Up Ballet Flat: Yes. Yes. Yes. I love everyting about this trend. I would go with a bright bold color such as this red. They look great with pants, skirts and dresses.
Colorful Flat: These are just cute! And the sporty sandal look is back. I love all the colors and textures on the strap. They make me feel like I’m heading off to some beautiful island getaway.
Floral Sandal: Super adorable. Pretty, romantic and sexy at the same time. An effortless addition to any outfit. Floral prints will always be a must for spring.
*Pink Pump: You have to own at least one statement colored pump. I personally think pink is a very versatile and feminine choice. The pointy toe heel is here to stay so invest in a great and comfortable pair.
White Lace Espadrille: Lace is huge for spring. And so are espadrilles. So why not combine the two?
*Power Platform: The platform is making a comeback but not in the Spice Girls kind of way. I love the vintage feel of these and the neutral color. They can be paired with many things from your wardrobe.
