Veterinary, Pediatric, and Stylist Tips For The Week!

Alison’s Tip

My clients are always asking me when they need to bring their dog or cat into the vet for diarrhea. Diarrhea is a common illness we see in pets and many times it resolves on it’s own.  I always tell my clients that if more than 2 days have gone by with no resolution, you should have them evaluated by your veterinarian.  There are  prescription medications that your pet may need in order to clear up the diarrhea.  In addition, your veterinarian may want to check for more serious causes of diarrhea such as parasites.

Head Lice!!! We all fear the day our child comes home with a notice that there has been a reported case of head lice in the class. Here are some helpful tips to help prevent your child from getting head lice.

  1. Make sure all girls wear their hair pulled back in a pony tail or braid.
  2. If there is a reported case of head lice, try hair gel or hair spray in your child hairs. It helps to prevent the lice from attaching to the shaft of the hair.
  3. Try putting 5-6 drops of tea tree oil in your child’s shampoo bottle. You can also try lavender oil or rosemary oil. Lavender oil is a natural repellent for head lice. It has also been shown to help kill head lice in combination with prescription shampoo.
  4. If you think you child has head lice immediately take them to their pediatrician for treatment shampoo.

Carrie’s Tip

It officially feels like short season right? When it starts to heat up you always want to have in your collection a pair of jean shorts, white jean shorts, floral printed and striped! You will find that shorts are so easy to throw in with a casual tee. I love mixing prints and pairing my striped troops with my floral shorts. Or even mixing denim with a denim top and my white denim shorts. Throw on a cute white sneaker and you have the perfect day outfit!
